Well, it's finally done! I published the first issue of K Means Black a few years ago, but never quite had the energy to go at it again until late last year. The new edition has some original graphics and many interesting articles.
The story about the importance of editing cites examples that should make any self-publisher think twice about self-editing; For instance, a Canadian cable company lost millions because of a misplaced comma and a Bible was published with the commandment, "Thou shalt commit adultery." I also combed the net and found some interesting opinions on the importance of editing from book reviewers, and also discovered comments on a blog written by Amanda Hocking, who made millions self-publishing her own eBooks and recently signed a lucrative deal with a well-known publishing house.
K Means Black also has a full chapter excerpt from Joel Friedlander's new book for self-publishers, and editor extraordinaire, Dick Marguilis has written an article for us.
India Amos, Queen of the Layout, offered some valuable advice early on and I hope she approves of what we did in the end.
Please go and download the eZine from my site BookCoverExpress. Your feedback on articles and layout is always welcome.
